Training in Supervision
About Certification
Many applicants to the Supervision Study Program supervise MFTs and may be interested in certification by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).

The Supervision Study Program will maintain its current psychodynamic orientation and emphasis on the supervision of open-ended, insight-oriented psychotherapy. Within that framework, the SSP Committee plans to keep certification requirements in mind as we plan the curriculum, with the goal that completion of the program meet most, if not all requirements for CAMFT certification.

On request, The Psychotherapy Institute will provide any SSP graduate with a letter summarizing the training he or she has received and listing the didactic seminars attended.
