Registration Policies

Register Early. Space in most classes is limited, and registrations received without payment are accepted on a "standby only" basis. Class space cannot be reserved for you until payment is received. Registration at the door is subject to space available, and enrollment may be closed before the day of the class.

Cancellation and Refund Policy. As of August 19, 2014, the following policy applies: To cancel your registration, please leave a voicemail message at 510-548-2250 ext. 2. If cancellation is made at least 14 days prior to the beginning of the course, a full refund will apply minus a $20 administrative fee. If you cancel 7-13 days in advance, a refund minus a $50 administrative fee will apply. If you cancel fewer than 7 days in advance, a refund will not be made.

Live Webinar Zoom Courses. The same cancellation and refund policy above applies to all live webinar/zoom courses. Course information and zoom links are emailed out two day before course date from TPI's Administrative Coordinator. Some email providers may put these emails in spam folders. It is the participants responsibility to check for the invite the day before the course in their regular inbox and spam folder. If email is not found participants must request a resend 24 hours in advance to ensure receiving the course information and meeting link in time.

Receipts. To save postage and administrative expense, your registration will be acknowledged only by email to the address you provide on your registration form.

Updates On Course Availability. For updates on class availability or changes to course location, visit the course webpage or call 510-548-2250 ext. 107. 

Written Course Material. Written material is usually provided without additional charge. However, when an instructor provides material in lengthy reader form, participants will be notified and will be responsible for payment.

Class Location. Unless stated otherwise, courses are held at the Institute at 2232 Carleton Street, Berkeley. For recorded information on our location and how to get here, please call 510-548-2250 ext. 107.

Parking and Access. Parking is free in the lot under our building at 2232 Carleton Street. All classes held at TPI are wheelchair-accessible; please call us in advance if you will need to use our lift.

Continuing Education Credits. The Psychotherapy Institute is approved by the California Psychological Association (CPA) to provide continuing professional education for psychologists, LMFTs, LCSWs, and LPCCs (provider number PSY005). The Psychotherapy Institute maintains responsibility for these programs and their content.

In order to earn continuing education credits for a TPI course, registrants must arrive and sign in on time, as well as sign out at the end of the course. For Zoom courses, registrants must stay online for the full course and complete the course evaluation.

Indicate on an enclosed sheet which course(s) you are registering for, and any other relevant options pertaining to the course(s) (e.g., lunch options for the Fall Symposium).
